Second Annual Meeting Recap: Taking Charge of Change

Published November 2, 2015

On Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24, The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics came together for the third time since our inception for the Second Annual Meeting at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va. Keeping with the meeting’s theme, “Taking Charge of Change,” we celebrated the many accomplishments we have made to date while discussing how to utilize CAO’s strengths to navigate the ever-changing medical industry.

Throughout the day, presentations included a business update and election of the managers from Denny Tritinger, and an initiatives update from Dr. Grosso, which touched upon the innovative partnerships we have developed with Binary Fountain, Everseat and Healthjump. Keynote speaker Mike McCaslin of Somerset CPAs highlighted the importance of CAO moving forward as one united organization to fully leverage our great potential. Finally, after collaborating on best practices during the sub-specialty breakout sessions,  Dr. Levitt led an informative discussion on risk management case studies prior to introducing the Advisory Board’s Ingrid Lund for a presentation on the importance of the patient experience.

Later in the evening, Dr. Jossan presented on physician autonomy, emphasizing how CAO offers all its physicians the ability to run their practices free of outside influence, so they can focus solely on what is best for the patient. The culminating dinner reception provided members a chance to network with colleagues and enjoy entertaining political satire from the Capitol Steps.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the weekend’s events and helped make them so special. We would also like to thank all of our event sponsors, including our Gold Sponsors, The Meltzer Group and Radnet, for their continued support of our group and the Annual Meeting. Due to all of our sponsors' support, not only was the Annual Meeting was a huge success, but, thanks to them, the costs for the meeting were completely offset.
