CAO Corporate Corner
CAO Family,
As we enjoy the holiday season and begin to prepare for the end of another year, we should take time to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished together as The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics. But, just as importantly, we should prepare for the future by agreeing to invest in the many forward-thinking initiatives that will position us to meet our goals in the New Year and beyond.
Borrowing a Wayne Gretzky quote that Mike McCaslin, our keynote speaker at this year’s annual meeting, used to set the tone for his remarks, we need to “skate to where the puck is going, not to where it’s been.”
As a group, we need to completely embrace this mindset and become the thought leaders who shape the delivery of orthopaedic care and drive better outcomes for our patients. We cannot sit back and let others dictate to us. We must take charge of the changes occurring in healthcare and move forward as a unified, high functioning organization. The Leadership Team is confident that all of our employees are up to the task.

As you will see, CAO’s corporate office, our Leadership Team, the Board and our many active CAO committees are working hard to build an infrastructure that can take The Centers to the next level. We need to take the necessary steps now to become a more unified group that is loved by our patients, admired by our peers and is committed to the private practice model. The opportunities offered by the evolving healthcare system are in front of us, but we must continue to work hard and be willing to make the necessary investments to be successful in the new and emerging healthcare arena.
Please enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation this holiday season. It’s certainly going to be a very busy New Year.
