Dr. Wayne Leadbetter Retires After More Than 40 Years in the Industry

Dr. Wayne Leadbetter of the Centers for Joint Surgery and Sports Medicine Division retired on December 31, 2015 with more than 40 years of orthopaedic experience. He began his medical career at Creighton University, later completing his internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. After 10 years working as a physician with the National Naval Medical Center, he transitioned into private practice.

Throughout his career, he served on the staff at Sinai Hospital’s Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in the Center for Joint Preservation and Reconstruction, and held academic roles at many prestigious universities, including George Washington University and Georgetown University. Earlier in his career, Dr. Leadbetter served as team physician for the football teams at both Catholic University and Montgomery College. After a busy and successful career in medicine, we wish Dr. Wayne Leadbetter a relaxing and happy retirement!
