"3 things to know about caseloads in outpatient orthopedic centers" - Becker's Spine Review

VMG Health Intellimarker compiled statistics on the caseloads of 201 freestanding ASCs from across the United States. These are the numbers for outpatient, primarily orthopedic centers.

1. The average caseload for all centers in a year was 3,760 with 15 cases a day.

The 25th percentile of centers had 2,544 cases a year and 10.2 a day. The 90th percentile of centers had 7,137 cases a year with 28.5 a day.

2. The average center had 754 surgical cases in an operating room per year and three cases a day. The 25th percentile of centers had 594 cases a year and 2.4 a day. The 90th percentile of centers had 1,016 cases in a year and 4.1 a day.

3. Concerning non-surgical cases per procedure room, the average center had 688 per year and 2.8 per day. The 25th percentile of centers had 229 case a year and .9 a day. The 90th percentile of centers had 1,673 cases per year and 6.7 per day.
