Community Involvement in Frederick, Maryland - Dr. Damian Roussel and Dr. James Steinberg

Published April 27, 2017

A key focus for The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is community involvement and improving the health of our neighbors in each of the communities we serve. Two physicians from the Mid-Maryland Musculoskeletal Institute recently offered informational meetings in Frederick as a way to do just that.

On February 9, Dr. James Steinberg presented at Frederick Memorial Hospital as a part of its Joint Works Program, where he discussed total knee replacements and the “Journey to a Healthy New Knee.” In partnership with Joint Works Program Coordinator Angela Michael, Dr. Steinberg provided an educational lecture, hands-on demonstrations and a step-by-step guide through the process to diagnose and treat an arthritic knee. Due to attendance and overwhelming support, Dr. Steinberg returned to present again on March 2.

Foot and ankle pain and disorders are common as people age. Dr. Damian Roussel led the Frederick Senior Center’s Monthly Health Forum, “There’s a Doctor in the House!” on April 5, where he discussed various foot and ankle concerns. He answered questions about the most common foot and ankle injuries and disorders, treatment and proper foot and ankle care to keep the aging population active and on their feet.
