Presentations by the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Care Center Physicians

Physicians at The Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle care center have participated in a number of presentations and speaking opportunities in recent months.

On June 13, Dr. Steven Neufeld moderated a panel hosted by the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, focusing on malpractice issues in foot and ankle surgery. Participants who sat in on the webinar and completed an online evaluation received 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.

Dr. Haley Merrill attended and presented at the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington in July. As a part of a program titled, “The Opioid Epidemic: Defining the Problem and Your Role in the Solution,” she gave a talk on opioids and orthopaedics. Her presentation focused on opioid abuse, orthopaedic surgeons’ contribution to the problem, musculoskeletal injuries and pain management, risk factors and prescribing patterns.

Dr. Neufeld also participated in the AOFAS Annual Meeting in Seattle, where he presented on his research titled, “Immediate weight-bearing after locking plate fixation of the Ludloff osteotomy.” His poster was on display in the Annual Meeting Exhibit Hall, featured in the meeting mobile app and published in the journal, Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics.
