Compliance Corner: June is National Safety Month

Published May 29, 2019

In recognition of Safety Month, the CAO Compliance and Safety Committee will lead the following activities in June:

Week 1 - Emergency Codes Review of the emergency code list found on page 9 of the safety manual. We will be having cards printed up with the Code table and what each color stands for.  We hope that every division will take the time to review the table with the staff and test their knowledge with the little match game we created.

Week 2 - Bomb Threat Procedures Focus on Bomb Threat procedures on page 22 of the safety manual. We are having cards printed up with the procedures and check list for a bomb threat.  We would like to encourage the divisions to engage the staff in a Bomb Threat Drill.

Week 3 - Shelter In Place Procedures We will be focusing on Shelter in Place and creating shelter in place emergency kits for the office and ideas for emergency kits for the car and home. We will provide a list of suggested items for the kits.

Week 4 - Daily Safety Issues We will be focusing each day on a different safety issue suggested by the National Safety Council. We have information/tips sheets from the national safety council in both English and Spanish and would encourage you to share with your staff and patients.
