CAO In The Community
- Dr. Sam Sydney represented CAO Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland volunteering for Operation Walk Maryland, performing total joint replacements in Georgetown, Guyana. Operation Walk Maryland is a volunteer medical service organization. It provides free joint replacement surgeries to those without access, and educates local health care providers to enhance the delivery of orthopaedic care. This is possible through the generous donations of individual and corporate sponsors. The surgeries are life changing. Individuals and communities are helped by “restoring hope through motion…one joint at a time”.
On October 14th Dr. Gary Sherman from Robinwood Orthopaedic Specialty Center participated in the 6th annual “Surgeons vs. Chefs: Pumpkin Face-Off”. Local surgeons and chefs get together and carve their pumpkins during a two-hour time period. The pumpkins are auctioned off at the end of the night to benefit our local Discovery Station. Sherman unfortunately did not hold his place of the “Pumpking” from last year, but he did get 2nd place this year, in both the auction bids and the People’s Choice.
