  • CAO Welcomes a NEW Care Center – Musculo-Skeletal Institute of America! Located in Glenn Dale, Maryland CAO's newest division is the practice home of Craig Thomas, MD and Philip Omohundro, MD.
  • CAO OrthoMaryland welcomed Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon, Beatrice Grasu in November. Beatrice Grasu specializes in the treatment of conditions affecting the hand & upper extremities. She provides care for patients of all ages—from pediatrics to geriatrics—and treats a multitude of conditions including fractures, nerve compression, vascular disorders, tendinopathies, and arthritic conditions.
  • Sally Fares joined the CAO Central Office as Senior Accountant last fall. Sally received her Bachelor of Accounting from George Mason University in 2014, and has gained industry experience in public, non-profit, government contracting, and healthcare accounting. Sally says, “My last gig in healthcare was for a small start-up dialysis company, where I wore many hats and built financial processes from the group up with our inpatient and outpatient centers. I am excited to bring that knowledge to CAO and get to know everyone.” Personally, Sally calls herself a “third culture kid”. She is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States, and grew up in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Her parents are American and Lebanese, so she spends a lot of time traveling overseas and back to see family. Her hobbies include playing board games, hiking, kayaking, cooking, watching Washington Capitals hockey, and reconciling balance sheets (yay accounting). Welcome, Sally!
  • CAO Central Office welcomed Leana Derbarghamian as General Council this month. Leana’s responsibilities at CAO will include working with regulators, advising the CAO board and management team on legal matters and records management. Previous to CAO, Leana was the former General Counsel to a national healthcare cost containment company where she led legal operations as well as defined various payor models, CMS/Medicare billing practices, and the cybersecurity regulations surrounding the products offered. Acknowledged as a thought leader in risk management, Leana has established herself as a major force in the healthcare field with over 15 years of experience.  Prior to her involvement as a General Counsel, Leana served as a corporate litigator representing large to mid-size companies in Maryland and the District of Columbia.  She currently serves as Trustee for two nonprofits (ShareACause and Abree Foundation) and is the Treasurer of the Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief for the DC Chapter.  She and her husband, VJ, and two daughters reside in Maryland and enjoy spending time with family and taking short weekend trips.
  • Debbie Lindabery is now CAO’s Therapy Administrator. She served as Interim Therapy Administrator last year and prior to that provided a wealth of consultant support to the organization.
