Our Continued Efforts to Combat COVID-19
The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is the leading orthopaedic practice in the Virginia – Maryland – District of Columbia region. As a healthcare provider, our organization is an essential business and thus has remained open during this Public Health Emergency. Throughout the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, the safety of our employees, patients and visitors has and will continue to remain of utmost priority.
We have worked to provide open communication so that all team members are informed while navigating such a challenging time. CAO has endeavored to support employees and patients alike by using a number of measures to promote safety including:
- Informed employees and patients of how CAO is Responding to COVID-19
- Implemented COVID-19 Patient Screening Questions
- Posted COVID-19 patient facing signs to identify those arriving with symptoms
- Rescheduling symptomatic or potentially exposed patients
- Limited patient and visitor volumes
- Posted Infection Control Signage
- Published a CAO Central Coronavirus Employee Resource Page
- Enacted COVID-19 PTO Relief
- Integrated Telemedicine for Clinic and Therapy patients, including support of patient accessibility needs through LanguageLine and TTY
We continue to expect employees to utilize infection control best practices regularly and please be reminded of the following:
- Stay home when you are sick. (Normal time off and leave policies apply.)
- Wash your hands and nails frequently with warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds.
- Cover your mouth with tissues whenever you sneeze, discard used tissues in the trash and then wash your hands.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
We will remain vigilant through this Public Health Emergency, doing our part to balance the needs of our employees, our patients and the greater public health while upholding the essential nature of our organization as we provide healthcare services to patients.
