Looking Back and Looking Ahead

Published November 30, 2020

As we look towards 2021 and the promise of a new year, it is impossible not to reflect on the memories of this year. As team members within The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics you have experienced at least one major change and, in most cases, more. Who knew at this time last year, we would have added the words “pandemic” “PPE” “coronavirus” “unprecedented” and “COVID-19” to our everyday lexicon? Yet, here we are. It is important to recognize the incredibly hard work across CAO to keep our offices open and provide excellent care to patients in the face of adversity, especially in this season of Thanksgiving.

Even in these uncertain times (another phrase that many of us could squarely retire along with 2020), we have moved forward as an organization. Launching a new Human Resources tool, beginning the transition to a single EMR, and shifting to a new email platform are major efforts we have launched this year. Additionally, the need to maintain social distancing and safety protocols required that we hold our annual meeting of physicians and administrators virtually this year, for the first time.  Change, change, and more change.

Accepting change means affording everyone moving through a transition or a new experience with a certain level of grace. Thank you to all for showing patience, grace and dedication to the CAO mission as we have moved through this year. This holiday season will look different as we continue to navigate through life during a pandemic. Please know that your leadership wishes you a healthy holiday season and a happy new year.
