Biography
Steven Horton M.D., M.S. is board-eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in Hand and Upper Extremity Disorders at Mid-Maryland Musculoskeletal Institute (MMI) division in Frederick, Maryland. Dr. Horton is a firm believer in conservative care. When surgery is required, for most procedures he utilizes minimally invasive techniques that lead to an easier, faster recovery with an earlier return to work and activities.
Dr. Horton has published articles on various topics, including treatment of scaphoid nonunions in Hand, another on Identifying the safe zone in arthroscopic anterior elbow capsulectomy published in the Orthopedics. He has presented research posters at the international meeting for American Society for Surgery of the Hand and presented podium research the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery annual meetings. He has coauthored a chapter in the upcoming book The Mangled Extremity: Evaluation and Management with his mentors at the Shock Trauma Center.
