Biography

Dr. Megan Miles, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. A native of Bethesda, MD, Dr. Miles received her undergraduate and medical degree from University of Maryland, and then completed her Orthopaedic Surgery residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She did additional fellowship training in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery at University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

Dr. Miles offers a comprehensive approach to the assessment of and treatment of common and complex hand, wrist, forearm, elbow and shoulder problems, including arthritis, wrist and elbow instability, fractures, injuries to tendons/ligaments/nerves/blood vessels, upper extremity nerve compression such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, trigger finger, upper extremity vascular insufficiency and complex upper extremity soft tissue and bony reconstruction. She also specializes in wrist, elbow and shoulder arthroscopy.

She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the hand, American Association for Hand Surgery and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society.

Dr. Miles, her husband, son and two golden retrievers have recently moved to Leonardtown, Maryland. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, cycling, volunteering, and anything on the water.
