Biography

Joining our practice Fall 2024

We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Scully, MD, to our practice. Dr. Scully is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon with over 12 years of diverse experience in the field. He joins us from Southern California, where he completed a fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles in adult reconstruction. During fellowship, Dr. Scully learned the latest techniques in joint replacement, with extensive training in the direct anterior approach, partial knee replacements, robotic and computer assisted joint replacement, cementless knee replacements, outpatient joint replacement, early recovery after surgery protocols, and complex revision surgery.

Dr. Scully completed his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine in 2012, followed by a general surgery internship at Rush University Medical Center and an orthopaedic surgery residency at George Washington University. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Scully served on active duty in the U.S. Navy as an orthopaedic surgeon in Yokosuka, Japan and Oceanside, California. Dr. Scully was honorably discharged from the Navy in 2023. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Scully has contributed to the academic field with over 15 peer-reviewed literature and textbook chapter publications and over 10 presentations at national meetings. His specialties include adult reconstructive orthopaedic surgery and general orthopaedic trauma. Dr. Scully is known for his patient-centered approach and dedication to improving patient outcomes through non-surgical and operative measures.
