Biography

Dr. Nathan McMurray obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University and his Doctorate from the University of Virginia. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. After residency, he completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. McMurray is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine with a certificate of added qualification in Sports Medicine. He joined Winchester Orthopaedic Associates in March 2021 on a part-time basis as an office-based Sports Medicine specialist, and practices Emergency Medicine full-time at Winchester Medical Center. His clinical interests include sports medicine, fracture care, and diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound, including PRP (stem cell) therapies. He previously worked as a team physician for Duke University and Elon athletics, and is currently a team physician for Shenandoah University.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, mountain biking, and hanging out with his English Bulldog, Hazel.
