Brad Gelfand M.D. Physician

Biography

Dr. Bradley Gelfand is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon at The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide spectrum of spinal conditions, including degenerative, traumatic, congenital and developmental disorders that impact the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral regions. This includes neck and back pain, disc herniations, radiculopathy (pinched nerve), spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, myelopathy (compression of the spinal cord), spinal deformity, scoliosis and spinal trauma.

Dr. Gelfand emphasizes the importance of pursuing non-surgical treatment options as a first step before considering surgical intervention in his practice.

A strong advocate of patient-centered care, Dr. Gelfand prioritizes listening to his patients and thoroughly educating them about their specific spinal conditions. He believes this collaborative, informed approach fosters shared decision-making, which is essential for achieving the best possible outcomes. Overall he simplifies his approach to spine care: treat patients how you would want your own family to be treated.

When surgery becomes necessary, Dr. Gelfand has expertise in both degenerative and complex spine surgeries, utilizing a tailored approach that may include advanced minimally invasive or motion preserving techniques, as well as traditional surgery – depending on what best suits the individual patient's needs.
