A Maryland native, David Jacobs, M.D., specializes in nonsurgical management of back and neck pain, and other musculoskeletal disorders. His clinical practice emphasizes treating these disorders with medication management, physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and fluoroscopic-guided spine injections.
Dr. Jacobs is also trained in the latest techniques for treating intractable back pain with spinal cord stimulator trials and intractable knee pain with genicular nerve blocks and genicular nerve radiofrequency ablation. He also performs epidural steroid injections, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, medial branch nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, and has an interest in peripheral nerve stimulation for peripheral joint pain.
Dr. Jacobs graduated from Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network/University of Chicago's residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and he was fellowship-trained in Pain Medicine at the Henry Ford Health System.
Dr. Jacobs takes a patient-centric approach to improve the quality of life and function of his patients. As a result, on the first visit he will focus on understanding each patient’s unique medical history. Dr. Jacobs will then work with the patient to develop a treatment plan tailored to one’s needs and lifestyle, and provide treatment options to consider.
Dr. Jacobs’ interests include hiking with his Labrador Retriever, running, and tennis.
