Biography
Dr. Thomas G. Amalfitano is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University and State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School, where he also completed his orthopaedic residency and served as Chief Orthopaedic Resident. His specialty practice includes fracture treatment, hip, knee, foot, ankle and shoulder problems, sports medicine and arthritis requiring joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Amalfitano works for the Washington Nationals major league baseball team, caring for the players in Hagerstown and each spring at the spring training facility in Viera, Florida. He also previously served as team physician for the Hagerstown Community College basketball team.
Dr. Amalfitano is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. Throughout his career, he has been active in research and has been published in a number of medical journals.
