Biography
Dr. Jeffrey Abend earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center College of Medicine in Syracuse, New York. He continued his training with an Internship at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, and a Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Abend then went on to a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Traumatology at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Service Systems of the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Abend has been in practice in Silver Spring since 1984. Dr. Abend has conducted orthopaedic research and is the author of an article published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.
